Nimberberry
The nimberberry is a sweet orange berry with red spots, they only grow in the Central Axolotlian Mountains in the cold. Nimberberries are usually 0.5-1.5 inch in length.
They are famed worldwide for their health benefits, and are occasionally called a superfood. They are often made into jam. They are one of Axolotlia’s largest exports.
They are expensive, especially when not in season, and occasionally, criminals try to smuggle them out of the country. Lucky the nimberberry has a powerfully sweet scent that makes police easily catch smugglers.
Nimberberry Flavor
Nimberberry is often described as a mix of blueberry, strawberry, and grape, but even sweeter, and a bit sour, it is thus very good as a jam and flavoring. A common way people make things seem more Axolotlian, often fauxthentically, is by making it nimberberry flavored or by putting nimberberries on it, but because they are expensive, they just blend blueberries, strawberries, grapes, a touch of lemon juice, and sugar to imitate the nimberberry.
The name derives from the Fentolese word: nibęr meaning orange.
