Black Chipmunk

The black chipmunk (Tamias tenebris) is a species of chipmunk found in Axolotlia, Axolotlia has no squirrels, and the black chipmunk fills that role. They are small and basically just an ordinary chipmunk, but black, sometimes they have gray stripes.

They are super common in Axolotlia and are the base of the food chain above plants. They share the role with other species like the græ (gray) chipmunk, a similar species that is gray with some brown stripes, also found in Axolotlia.

There are 2 subspecies, one on the Mainland, and one on Bræ Island, the Bræ Island Black Chipmunk is actually dark gray with black stripes rather than black with gray stripes.
