On Oct 6, 1994, Canada invaded Axolotlia in an attempt to annex it for its resources, Axolotlia won with 46k deaths, Canada only had 12k deaths. Canada managed to occupy about half of Axolotlia, including all islands not part of the Main Island.
The Canadians committed numerous war crimes against the Axolotlian people, including the public shredding of the Axolotl Statue of Worshipping via office shredder, a large concrete statue of an axolotl face in Axoton, the Axoton ASW is the most significant religious site in Axolotlia. The peace treaty was on May 10, 1995. The Canadian public supported this treaty.

Canadian Invasion More War Crimes
The destruction of the Axoton Axolotl Statue of Worshipping wasn't the only warcrime by destruction of a protected building committed by Canada. They also raided and destroyed the contents of 3 museums to try destroying Axolotlian culture, and even turned one into a fort to use for their military. They tried to raid a 4th but the contents had already been relocated to a safer town. They also blew up Fort Newlε.
They had also made worshipping the Axolotl Gods illegal in their occupied zones and repressed speaking Axolisc in public, like the British had been doing during colonial times. Axolisc wasn't even usable as a secret code because it is so mutually intelligible to English in speech.
They also tried poisoning Lake Axolin to kill the axolotls in the lake, luckily it is very hard to poison a lake the size of Rhode Island bad enough to affect the whole thing. Unfortunately the amount of poison they put in at Grest-Powderville did kill hundreds of axolotls and may have killed some people.
Canadian Invasion peace treaty
Immediately after the war ended, on May 10, 1995, a new prime minister was elected, and they were mad that they had invaded, so they wanted to let Axolotlia know they were remorseful. Canada immediately returned all occupied lands, rebuilt all damaged infrastructure for free, and paid Axolotlia 500 billion USD in war reparations. They rebuilt Fort Newlε.
Canada insisted that the original 400 billion wasn't enough, which is why they paid 500 billion, they also profusely apologised constantly for years.
They then paid all affected persons 1000 usd.
And they gave Axolotlia some islands that would become a territory called New Canada Territory, it is about 800 miles to the northeast.
