Axolotlians have little respect for the flag. They occasionally acknowledge its existence, it is usually only flown at government buildings and businesses. The only time citizens respect it is on Independence Day, or when Axolotlia is in an international sport event. 

The official way to fold the flag is to crumple it into a ball, or to just fold it in halves until it is the desired size. 

Notably, pride for the flag has grown in recent years, spiking when major events happen to Axolotlia, the Axolotlia-British Cyberwar saw Axolotlian Flags go up worldwide, and the cyber attack that killed much of the Axolotlian Government saw Axolotlian Flags coat the nation.

Nowadays about 24% of Axolotlians own an Axolotlian Flag, they still don't fly it though.

Flag Rules

Rules: To wash the Axolotlian Flag, just toss it in the dirty laundry.

It is considered rude to make the Axolotlian Flag fancier than normal, gold edges, extra detail of the flag, more appealing colors, etc.

The Flag of The Republic of Axolotlia by law must be flown lower than other nation’s when flown together, luckily the international organizations that Axolotlia is a member of were like “No, you are an equal member, your flag will be flown equally.” Axolotlia responded “But our laws say to-” then they said “Well we aren't in Axolotlia, it is flying equal to the rest. Knock it off.” Thanks to this, the Axolotlian flag is not an eyesore internationally.

The reason for the low flying near other national flags is because Axolotlia places much more respect on other nations’ flags than their own, and they want to show that.
