2016 Eradication of invasive rats

In 2016, the last rat in the archipelago was captured in Walkerton, this was a massive deal, as rats had been in Axolotlia for nearly 2 centuries.

A celebration was held.

Since the program started in 1991, the environment has boomed, since Main island was cleared in 2014, the whole archipelago’s ecosystem has flourished.
