Floopsans
Floopsans are a group of 3 closely related species of rodents found across Axolotlia.
The species are the Domestic Floopsan (Floopsanius Domesticus), Grent Floopsan (Floopsanius Floopsanius), and Mainland Floopsan (Floopsanius Major).
The word floopsan is from the Fentolese “Flok San”.
Domestic Floopsan
The domestic floopsan is a small rodent like mammal only 3-5 inches long that is round, playful, and very fluffy with a quite adorable face with big puppy dog eyes and very boopable snoots. It’s a pet found in many pet stores nationwide, they are usually dyed many different colors. Some companies will use toxic dyes that kill the floopsan young so that people buy more, despite it being highly illegal. Their natural color is white, or gray.
Some dark gray floopsans are bleached so that the dye works efficiently, despite bleaching being highly illegal and carries a massive fine.
It is advised to only buy floopsans from verified companies, so that the floopsans are treated humanely and legally.
They eat grass and fruits and veggies and leaves.
Grent Floopsan
Grent floopsen live on Grent Isle. They are tiny herbivores and very much not domesticated, being native to Grent Isle (the small island in the Grent Sea between Main Island and Bræ Island) they evolved to navigate the bush forest that covers the island, with only low to the ground bushes and no trees, only small animals can move around. They are the same size as domestic floopsans.
When a floopsan is released on any other island, it is free to wreak havoc and likely get obliterated by grets. It is illegal to release them on the mainland because of this, which counts as not only releasing an organism not for the environment, but also abusing the floopsan (domestic floopsen cant even survive the wild.)
They show insular dwarfism.
Mainland Floopsan
The Mainland Floopsan is a larger species of floopsan distinct from the Grent Floopsan, and the Domestic Floopsen derived from Grent Floopsans, they are roughly usually 5-8 inches long and are usually brown to gray in color, their fur is a bit more wiry and are more aggressive, they are ground dwellers and, unlike the Grent floopsan that evolved without any predators, have plenty to deal with, meaning they are more intelligent and are able to defend themselves. They do still share many traits with their Grent and domestic brothers.
They are at the base of the food chain and are preyed upon by most carnivores and omnivores on the islands, such as grets, þeran foxes, long leg crocs, and many others I haven't yet decided to add to the project.
