In Axolotlia, Atlantic Cornbread is used slightly more than wheat bread, including for things like sandwiches, and other bread related things. It is comparable to wheat bread in texture and flavor, though it is noticeably denser and like normal cornbread, a bit more crumbly, though it is sturdy enough to be used like normal wheat bread.
It is the main staple food of Axolotlia, if you don't count the corn it comes from. It is just an alternative to wheat bread and given it is native to Axolotlia, it is popular in Axolotlia. It has been eaten by natives for millennium and even colonists ate it over normal bread because it was easily grown in Axolotlia, and had been for so long thanks to the natives.
