Axolotlians really like sad songs. Songs about sad but real topics, especially climate change. Seeing as climate change is particularly harmful to Axolotlia.

Every Axolotlian has at least heard the song “Axolotlia Will Be Atlantis” a song about how rising sea levels are expected to flood Lucinia by 2090. And how sea level rise is already harming coastal communities as storms grow stronger.

Another song most Axolotlians have heard is “The New Island” a song about the North Atlantic Garbage Patch. The song was written in 2016 when the North Atlantic Garbage Patch approached Axolotlia and temporarily destroyed the Axolotlian fishing industry.

Pebbledrum

The pebbledrum is an instrument made of a hollow drum filled with metal pegs connected to the drum face, and multiple rocks, when the drum is spun or shaken or moved the rock move around and hit the pegs that makes an interesting sound.

The drum makes different sounds based on how many rocks are in it and their sizes, a common one is to have a bit of many sizes. Also depending on the positioning of the pegs.

Pebbledrums are a unique instrument going far back in Axolotlia’s native history and is a common school project to make one, the students place the pegs how they want, fill the drum with their choice of rocks or other materials, and then annoy the absolute shit out of everyone within earshot as they vigorously shake the shit out of their creation.

Professional pebbledrummers can make some beautiful sounds.
